Instagram launches IGTV

If you hadn’t heard, Instagram last month launched IGTV. Hot take: They want to compete with YouTube (on mobile at least), they want to offer users longer videos (up to an hour long), with videos at full screen and vertical. We’ll see how brands use this. Right now? It’s really hard to sit through more than a couple of minutes of most personal users’ videos. That’s what Stories is for people! Still, it’s pretty cool. Anyone can be their own brand. Other hot take: People will watch content only on their phones-mobile is hot.

Mobile grows and grows

Mobile is hot you say? Yep. Especially mobile advertising. According to a new market report by Transparency Market Research, the rising adoption of personal devices and companies “leveraging on disruptive technology for customer reach are the key factors driving the growth of the mobile advertising market. In addition, the growing trend of social media and the introduction of video ads is further anticipated to drive the growth of this market over the forecast period.” In simple terms: you need a mobile advertising strategy.
